Wynkoop.jpg

Colorado’s first brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company was founded in 1988 by a group of young entrepreneurs and urban pioneers led by current Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.

Our brewpub’s hallmarks — highly acclaimed small-batch beers, high quality food & service, the city’s best pool hall and our glorious 1888 building — helped make us a major catalyst for the revival of Lower Downtown Denver.

Today Wynkoop Brewing Company is a beer-blessed Denver institution, a must-visit Colorado landmark and one of the nation’s most revered craft breweries.

We’re also one of the city’s best places for private and corporate events. We’ve hosted everything from Democratic National Convention parties to beer festivals, weddings and company conferences. (All with great beer and food.)

Today we’re expanding our downtown brewing efforts to deliver more of our ambitious, artisan-style craft beer to Denver’s best beer outlets. Look for cans of our Rail Yard Ale in local stores and kegs of all of our beers at the area’s top bars and restaurants.

wicked-weed-logo.png

This review will be short. I can’t say enough about Wicked Weed so I will say a little.

I profess a bias towards North Carolina and it’s craft beer affliction. Affliction in the best possible way. Asheville is one of the Meccas for craft beer lovers. If you know craft beer, you know Asheville NC. Wicked Weed is the blossom of two peel-offs from Dogfish Head brewery. Almost everything is barrel aged. They’re cellar/basement/bottom floor is where it’s at…a**hole. They haven’t made one bad beer. It used to be that The Wedge or GreenMan was the center of Asheville but as soon as their doors opened, Wicked Weed stomped their competition. It is, essentially , like comparing a Porsche to a Miata…similar but entirely two different entities.

If you’re not in Asheville for more than a day I recommend doing a flight, you’ll never be able to try every beer and go home, most likely you’ll die; however, there is no nobler death than by hops.

Astoria Brewing Company.jpg

The Wet Dog Café was founded in 1995. The Brewery was added in 1997 under the name Pacific Rim Brewery. The name of the Brewery was changed to Astoria Brewing Co. in 2005 commemorating Astoria’s first Brewery Company which was established in 1872.

Our Brew Master uses only the finest ingredients to create our exceptional beers. Each beer is handcrafted using a wide range of hops & grains, thus creating unique flavors. It takes approximately 2 weeks for grain, water & hops to become our tasty brews. Our brewery has a 4 barrel system & in 2008 we added two 8 barrel fermenting tanks allowing us to produce over 800 barrels annually.

In our efforts to being earth friendly, 2008 was marked with the Wet Dog adding 15 Solar panels on our roof, on ly to be the 2nd brewery in the State of Oregon to use solor energy to heat our hot water tanks for the production of our beer and for the use of hot water in our kitchen. We recycle all plastics, cardboard, tin, glass, & paper, amounting to tons of disposables each year.

The riverfront deck is open during the summer months thru fall, offering patrons a fantastic view of the Columbia River. Perhaps you will see the Astoria Riverfront Trolley make it’s way down the waterfront and stop at the foot of 11th Street. Don’t forget to wave!

Over the past decade, Steve & Karen along with their 7 children continue to grow an evolving business that keeps expanding with the help of our exceptional employees and extended family here at the Wet Dog. We have learned that the most important key to a successful business is our employees. We are truly blessed and will continue to make your experience here a memorable one, and we warmly welcome you back again.

steamworks_logo.png

In 1995, when we first took hold of our historic Gastown brewpub location, we discovered that the building had a rare steam heat system. A remnant from forward thinkers of a century past.

Our brewmaster had only read of steam powered brewing, but had never seen a functional steam brewery. These are very rare indeed. We ventured forth, experimented, and created a one-of-a-kind steam generated brewery. The only one in Canada.

To our pleasure, we found our test brews to be distinctively fresh and flavourful.

For nearly 20 years, beer aficionados have been migrating to our Steamworks brewpub for a taste of these unconventional beers. Now, with the advent of our bottled beers, you can take the brewpub experience home with you.
