Bruxelles.jpg

Bruxelles is a cosmopolitan bar. Located just a step away from Grafton Street, Dublin’s busiest shopping thoroughfare. Bruxelles is the ideal venue for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It’s a sports bar and a music bar, with djs in three bars and regular live music. If you don’t have a ticket for the big game; see it in Bruxelles. It might be better; with terrace banter, cold beer and cosy surroundings. Bruxelles is an ideal meeting place because it’s right in the heart of things. And once you get there, you won’t want to leave.

Bruxelles Bar played such a huge part in the birth of the Irish music scene. To Skid Row, then Thin Lizzy, this became their second home around the late 1960’s-early 1970’s.

Astoria Brewing Company.jpg

The Wet Dog Café was founded in 1995. The Brewery was added in 1997 under the name Pacific Rim Brewery. The name of the Brewery was changed to Astoria Brewing Co. in 2005 commemorating Astoria’s first Brewery Company which was established in 1872.

Our Brew Master uses only the finest ingredients to create our exceptional beers. Each beer is handcrafted using a wide range of hops & grains, thus creating unique flavors. It takes approximately 2 weeks for grain, water & hops to become our tasty brews. Our brewery has a 4 barrel system & in 2008 we added two 8 barrel fermenting tanks allowing us to produce over 800 barrels annually.

In our efforts to being earth friendly, 2008 was marked with the Wet Dog adding 15 Solar panels on our roof, on ly to be the 2nd brewery in the State of Oregon to use solor energy to heat our hot water tanks for the production of our beer and for the use of hot water in our kitchen. We recycle all plastics, cardboard, tin, glass, & paper, amounting to tons of disposables each year.

The riverfront deck is open during the summer months thru fall, offering patrons a fantastic view of the Columbia River. Perhaps you will see the Astoria Riverfront Trolley make it’s way down the waterfront and stop at the foot of 11th Street. Don’t forget to wave!

Over the past decade, Steve & Karen along with their 7 children continue to grow an evolving business that keeps expanding with the help of our exceptional employees and extended family here at the Wet Dog. We have learned that the most important key to a successful business is our employees. We are truly blessed and will continue to make your experience here a memorable one, and we warmly welcome you back again.

Jack Nash, an ex-patriot from Sussex, England, built The Crow & Gate Public House
on ten acres of scenic property in Cedar, near Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. In doing
so The Crow & Gate Pub became the first
neighbourhood pub in British Columbia. Now a well-known landmark and favourite destination for locals and tourists alike.

Construction of The Crow & Gate Pub entailed great attention to detail. Pegged beam & plaster, exposed beams, massive stonework open fireplaces, heavy wood trestle tables and, throughout, clad with authentic pub memorabilia from the U.K. all creating an ambiance only otherwise experienced if you take a trip to the South of England.

Here at Design District Urban Tavern, we like to keep it fresh.

Our menu options change with the seasons, and according to popularity & availability. We feature burgers towering with toppings, house made pasta & sauces, locally raised meat sandwiches, and a variety of charcuterie meats & cheeses created here in Alberta. We like chalkboards (we donÍt do menus). It’s no surprise to see a Chef come out of the “Meating Place” to cross out the pulled pork sandwich, or add in a freshly baked peach pie. The chalkboards on the walls are visible from most seats in the house, but if maxin’ & relaxin’ is more your style then we have chalkboards on wheels that your server will bring right to your table.

Good Food, Good Beer, Good People, Great Time

The Hog Penny was formerly a bicycle shop selling Penny Farthing bicycles before being converted to a meat slaughterhouse selling huge blocks of ice that had been shipped in from North America during the winter. When it first opened as the Hog Penny, during the late stages of segregation, shockingly, it had a divider down the middle of it to separate the races. Soon though, equality prevailed and the middle divider was removed. The Hog Penny was cobbled together from old Watney’s pubs in England that were being withdrawn and many of the mirrors, benches and sheep shearing tools you see on the shelves date back to the early 1900s.
